Branding: Revolux

December 22nd, 2015 by Ima Admin

IFIblog_RVLX_smParent company, Facilities Resource Group, came to the Imagination Factory in 2014 to design a new site and later tradeshow collateral for one of their business units, Lux-Evo, a Michigan-based LED Lighting company that routinely delivers energy savings on projects of any scale across the U.S.

As a result of their expansion plans, they had merged with another similar firm in Texas, Etex. The result was a new business entity called ‘Revolux’. Over the years, Etex had acquired numerous domain names at several registrars which were pointing to an existing web presence hosted at HubSpot. However, with an announcement imminent this site needed to be quickly but substantially tweaked to reflect the new brand (logo, locations, services) along with pages for (and navigation to) specific services relocated to the other business unit sites and get the domains all cleaned up.

Team IFI was able to go in and seamlessly help behind the scenes with this client’s public-facing online presence and their re-branding efforts. Who do you know that needs a design team that’s more than just a design team?

Site Launch: Wheeler Business Machines

October 30th, 2015 by Ima Admin

IFIblog_WBM_smFollowing Google’s ‘mobilegeddon’ updates, Wheeler Business Machines, began noticing a fall-off of site traffic and phone calls, despite their continuous SEO efforts.

The site was large, with a lot of good product content, but it was also quite old – predating tablets and smartphones, so it was still an HTML-based site, not mobile responsive with no real ecommerce function.

The Imagination factory re-designed the site into a CMS-based structure and gave them a much easier e-commerce setup which was not only mobile responsive, but easier to search optimize AND manage the site content. Client is much more productive at managing the site, the site is regaining its search ‘juice’, calls AND orders are flowing at a higher rate.

Site Re-vamp: Borgman Ford

July 25th, 2015 by Ted Bailey

IFIblog_BORG_C_smIn addition to their main new/used auto, truck and commercial vehicle site, Borgman has numerous mini-sites which we maintain on their behalf. Each mini-site focuses on a specific model or group of models, so given the numbers of Fords and Mazdas out there, you can begin to get an idea of just how numerous we’re talking.

Although designed some time ago to be mobile friendly, by your friendly neighborhood web-slingers at the Imagination Factory, changes at the various search engines dictated that we revamp ALL the sites to be even more mobile responsive.

Fortunately, when we originally designed the original structure, we had done so using a multi-site concept which deploys a single CMS engine as the back-side foundation and then allowed us to spawn each mini-site as a child of the master. This allows us to use a common master design and codeset, then easily tweak each child to be unique sites on their own even w/ their own domain name. It also reduces re-design, maintenance and update time considerably.

There are so many mini-sites, we couldn’t begin to list them all, but head over to Borgman Ford Commercial Vehicles Used Cars Grand Rapids or Grand Rapids Ford Escape and you’ll get the idea.

Site Launch: Meyer Music

August 22nd, 2014 by Ted Bailey

IFIblog_MMI_smMeyer Music, after watching web designers come and go for several years, came to the Imagination Factory, back in 2005, to have their first web site built. Over the years there have been a variety of changes and enhancements to benefit their customers, but no major re-design…

Until today!

Meyer Music has revamped and enhanced its internal operations, so it made sense to also give the website an overall facelift and make it mobile responsive. The redesign would require also integrating the public facing web site to a secure portal where Meyer Music clients will not only rent musical instruments (as with the old site), but also access their accounts and pay online.

This latter portion of the project meant not only getting the various computers to play together nicely and securely, but to make the aesthetics match as closely as possible across different computers, operating systems, and applications.

Come visit the NEW Meyer Music site, today.

Site Launch: Micro Visions

May 30th, 2014 by Ted Bailey

MicrovisionsFor over 20 years Micro Visions has been providing IT managed services in Grand Rapids and throughout West Michigan. Their IT consulting experts always look out for your best interests and will translate all “tech speak” into business language you can understand.

So, when MVI went looking for someone to revamp their web presence, they wanted someone with similar experience levels (IFI has been designing websites since 1995), understood their business (IFI not only designs, but maintains its own rack of servers), and could talk to them in ‘tech’ and business languages.

When they found the Imagination Factory, they stopped looking and even started recommending us to some of their clients.

Site Launch: Lux-Evo

May 27th, 2014 by Ted Bailey

Lux-EvoA Michigan-based LED Lighting company that routinely delivers 85% energy savings on projects of any scale across the U.S. had a need to re-design their website into something mobile responsive, better looking, easier to use AND easier for them to maintain before the next tradeshow (Lightfair International in Vegas).

Just like their LED lighting, they came to the Imagination Factory for some bright ideas of how to revamp their existing material as well as organize some of their new product offerings in time for the show.

Site Launch: CTMAX

December 31st, 2013 by Ted Bailey

ctmax_trio

Long-time client, CTMAX, has developed a split personality! Since we put up their original site in 1996, we’ve revamped their we presence several times, the last was in 2009/2010… BEFORE the onslaught of the mobile devices that have found their way into our pockets and purses.

Since Connecticut Maxillofacial Surgeons (aka CTMAX) started their practice (you’d think they wouldn’t still be ‘practicing’), they have continually improved and expanded their services and geographical reach. A few years back they launched a separate learning center to provide a place of continuing education for colleagues. Earlier this year, CTMAX, began to apply their expansive knowledge of facial aesthetics in the areas of non-surgical facial aesthetic enhancement… and the Facial Aesthetic Center for Enhancement (CTMAX FACE) was launched.

The problem was the primary practice was that of oral surgery and caters to a bit more toward the referring doctor and their patients; the learning center is really aimed at area doctors interested in increasing their industry knowledge; and FACE is more consumer-related.

The solution was NOT to try to make one site do it all, but to actually split the former site into three inter-related but separate sites… And, of course, make them mobile responsive and search optimized.

Site Lauch: Home Life Interiors

November 30th, 2013 by Ted Bailey

IFIblog_HLIHome Life Interiors’ goal in designing the interior of your home is to create a setting where each person entering the home environment will feel a sense of welcome and rest. They believe that a home should express the dreams and vision of the owner, not the designer.

We agree, especially as it relates to an organization’s web presence. A few months ago, Home Life’s makeover began w/ a new branding program. Now was the time to completely overhaul their site, time for the Imagination Factory to give them a new look that reflected their approach to interior design, the quality of their solutions and embraced the many mobile devices that were now in use by their clientele. And, oh yeah, make it search friendly.
